Sunrise Rotary is a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club! March 19th Celebration at 7:00am!
As if March 1st, we became a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club! Thank you to each of you who took the challenge to contribute towards a Paul Harris Fellow award. The Club matched your contributions and used Paul Harris points to elevate you to the $1000 level or your next level.
We will celebrate this 1 time Club event on March 19th when we will be recognized as a "100% Paul Harris Fellow Club"! Please plan to attend Rotary Club that March 19th at 7am when we will award over 30 pins and certificates!
$5,000 Grant Presentation to the Veterans Community Project in Longmont - March 18th @ Noon
We will present the Veterans Community Project (VCP) in Longmont with the $5000 grant money that Sunrise Rotary was awarded from Dignity Memorial. Everyone is welcome to accompany Bill Howell, Jean Rissmiller and Stacey Cole-Winsor to the Veterans Community for a brief "big check" presentation, a tour of the tiny village and then lunch afterwards.
In the May timeframe, the VCP will do a presentation to us about the VCP and then let us know which “all Club” Service Project we can do onsite. Please let Bill Howell know if you would like to attend on March 18th at Noon in Longmont. We will meet at the Legion at 10:45am and drive to the VCP Village at 3095 Mountain Brook Drive, Longmont, CO 80503.
The 36th annual Duck Race is May 4th! Purchase your "Quack Pack" at kick edepduckrace.org at the price of 5 for $125 or $25 each. The theme this year is “Family of the World”. There will be festivities in Bond Park. Sunrise Rotary will have a table and will promote 2024 Raffle Ticket Sales.
We are entering a float in the July 8th Rodeo Parade once again this year. Thanks to Stacey Cole-Winsor for organizing this and to Mike McKinney for offering his 20” trailer and to Cory Workman for offering to tow the float. The theme is "American Cowboy". We will need "all hands on deck" with the length of this trailer! Stay tuned for more information.

Frozen Dead Guys weekend is March 16-17. Berta Raworth has a condo for the weekend above Kind Coffee that she won in last year's Duck Race drawing. She is offering it to any of us who need a place to stop in during the festivities.
Steve Misch had back surgery last week which turned out to be more extensive than planned. He is still in bed and trying to manage the pain. Please remember Steve with prayers.
David White's wife, Sharry, did come home last week but due to her oxygen levels not staying where they should, she is back down the mountain being cared for. Please keep Sharry and David in your prayers.
Bill Howell and Gordon Slack gave an update on PETS training from last weekend (President Elect Training Seminar). The theme for the 2024/2025 year is "The Magic of Rotary". Bill said there was a lot of emphasis around Paul Harris and becoming a 100% Paul Harris Club. He said it is a BIG DEAL so congrats on Sunrise Rotary for achieving this!! There is a Paul Harris celebration dinner in Casper, WY on May 4th. Teresa will have more information on this prestigious dinner soon. There was also a lot of emphasis on submitting Global Grants as there is still $40K left in our district's budget. Sunrise Rotary is getting $15K for our Ecuador Water Project. More on that in our May 7th program.

D5440 Conference in Steamboat Springs is May 16-19 – Sunrise members will enter something in the Silent Auction. All proceeds will go to Crutches 4 Africa (crutches4africa.org). Submission form due by Friday, April 19th.
Matching grant applications are available through March 31! Recognizing that Sunrise Rotarians support various local nonprofits, the Matching Grants Program doubles a member’s donation up to $200. If a club member gives $200, EVSR will match that $200 and the nonprofit will receive $400. Eligible local nonprofits must be registered with the Estes Park Nonprofit Resource Center (EPNRC). Certain international nonprofits will be allowed: Rotary Charities, YMCA, and Salvation Army.
