Scott Applegate announced a free, live event "Be Prepared, Not Scared". Protect your money and information in the modern world. May 16th from 5:00-6:30pm at the American Legion. RSVP as seating is limited, so we encourage you to RSVP sooner than later if you would like to attend.
Sadly, we learned that Karla Van Dries’ mother, Gladys, passed away last Sunday. We will have a card to sign (from our Club) at next week's meeting.
Jackie Flood sold her house and will be moving to Omaha, NE on April 12th.
"Save the Date" for an upcoming joint social with Noon Rotary on Thursday, May 30th at High Peak Camp. The Salvation Army has this camp for a retreat of inner city kids to have an experience at a camp. They have a large eating area and the food is served cafeteria style. There will be a tour includes seeing the dorms, etc. Stay tuned for more info to come.

o The Service Project for this Conference is to support the efforts of CRUTCHES 4 AFRICA. We are starting now to collect Mobility devices including: * crutches, ankle boots, walkers, wheelchairs, canes, leg braces, knee braces, prosthetic legs, air casts, baby jogging strollers, bicycle trailers, rollators, ski poles, etc.
o Our Silent Auction entry will be an “Estes Park Getaway” package. Scott Thompson donated two nights in his Condo (during offseason), Cabin Fever donated a mug, Colorado Homestead will donate something and we plan to get a coffee gift card from either Inkwell & Brew or Kind Coffee, among other donations. Proceeds from the Silent Auction will also go to CRUTCHES 4 AFRICA.
Women in Rotary Conference
“Women in the Rockies” conference is July 26-28 in Westcliff, Colorado. 6 or 7 members from our Sunrise Rotary Club have expressed interest in attending. but please confirm with Jean if you are interested in attending so we can get a headcount.

Today's Program
Young Chautauqua performances - we heard amazing 3 performances from these 3 talented ladies:
15 year old Geneva as Alexine Tinne
10 yrs old Kayla as Mary Anning
9 year old Cameron as Anne Sullivan
Since November, these students have been attending weekly research sessions at the Estes Valley Library, led by local school teacher Katherine Dumont. Participants from elementary, middle, and high school chose their own historical figures and have been spending hours studying their “character” in depth. Students write their own speeches and review them with their parents and coach.
There are 29 students in the Estes Park Young Chautauqua group. Katherine has been a coach for 10+ years.
