Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary Club - May 12, 2026

Jane Carlton was Initiated Today

Today we welcomed Jane Carlton into the Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary Club.

Jane, we are thrilled to have you as a member of our Club. While we learned many things about Jane today, we also learned that her father was a Rotarian.

Program Highlights - May 12

Team Meetings for:

  • Labor Day Arts & Crafts Show – We are pleased to report that 90% of vendors have already paid. All accepted and confirmed vendors will receive an email this week with their booth assignments and any remaining booth balance due.
  • Autumn Gold Festival – Planning is on schedule, with permits, bands, and food vendors. We will be taste-testing additional brat flavors at Pass-the-Gavel, courtesy of Continental Sausage Co., so we can decide which flavor will replace the plain, bland brat from last year.
  • Raffle Tickets - we have our 2026 raffle license but are still waiting on approval from the State's Bingo and Raffle Program Specialist to approve our raffle ticket process.  We hope to be able to start selling as early as June 1st.  Stay tuned.

Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary gave out $24,000 in scholarships to 24 deserving Estes Park HS Seniors last night. Several of our scholarships went to students going into the trades, and some went to students with high academic achievements.

Our club members purchased 12 quack packs and 10 individual tickets for the Duck Race yielding $1,610 in revenue for our Sunrise Rotary Club.  Thanks to those who made the purchases and for supporting our Club.

Register for The Rotary Innovation Summit (District Conference) - June 5-7, 2025.  You will learn SO MUCH about Rotary and it's global impact!

So far we have 3 attending from our Club.

Our Matching Grants committee will hand out checks totaling $32,000 in grant monies to several Nonprofits on June 23rd at our Rotary Club meeting.

Our Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary Club’s Matching Grants Program make our giving go further. During March every year, our members donate up to $200 to a nonprofit they care about, and Sunrise Rotary Club matchs it dollar-for-dollar. With a total program cap of $3,300, it’s a great opportunity to double our impact while supporting causes that matter to us and to help our Sunrise Rotary extend our support across our community.

Thank you to those who donated!

Originally planned for Dubai, the 2027 Rotary International Convention will finally be held in Barcelona from June 26 to 30.

This strategic decision was taken due to the current geopolitical context in the Gulf region, in order to guarantee participants a peaceful, accessible and secure event.

This change illustrates Rotary’s ability to adapt to international challenges, while preserving the essentials: bringing together thousands of members from around the world around common values of service, friendship and peace.

Barcelona, an open, dynamic city with major infrastructure for large congresses, offers a particularly favorable setting to host this global event.

The Convention remains a key moment in Rotary life: inspiring conferences, intercultural exchanges, discoveries of humanitarian projects and celebration of collective impact.

In 2027, the Rotary community will therefore meet in Spain to continue its mission: to serve first and strengthen ties between peoples.
