Good News:
  • David White’s wife comes home tomorrow after 2 months in rehab recovering from pneumonia.

  • PETS (President Elect Training Seminar) is this weekend: March 1-3 in Westminster @ Westin (Attending from Sunrise: PE:Bill Howell & PEN:Gordon Slack, and attending from Noon club: PE:Anne Slack & PEN:Jack Ford).  About 350 will in attendance from D5440.

  • Arts & Crafts already has 92 applications and will start Jury Round 1 selection within the next week. Applications are accepted until May.

  • Please Note! Team Meetings will be March 5th instead of March 12th in order to accomodate speaker Jim Pickering.  

  • Rotary Board meeting - coming up on Wednesday, March 13th @ 5:30pm

  • Steve Misch will have back surgery soon and will be recovering 2-3 weeks afterwards. 

  • D5440 Spring Virtual Assembly is Saturday, April 13th from 9am-11:30am on Zoom. Register here. Breakout sessions featured are: 

    • Grant Training (training is required to do District Grants as a club)

    • Public Image Training and Ideas

    • Club Vibrancy – understanding your Club’s attrition vs attraction data and how to use it

    • President and President-Elect Session

  • D5440 Conference in Steamboat Springs is May 16-19 – For those of us attending, do we want to donate something in a silent auction? All proceeds will go to Crutches 4 Africa (crutches4africa.org). Submission form due by Friday, April 19th.
  • Matching grant applications are available through March 31! Recognizing that Sunrise Rotarians support various local nonprofits, the Matching Grants Program doubles a member’s donation up to $200. If a club member gives $200, EVSR will match that $200 and the nonprofit will receive $400.  Eligible local nonprofits must be registered with the Estes Park Nonprofit Resource Center (EPNRC). Certain international nonprofits will be allowed: Rotary Charities, YMCA, and Salvation Army.

Speaker, Dave Arterburn
"Vertical Lift Now and in the Future – Challenges and Opportunities"
 
Dave Arterburn delivered a very interesting presentation on the history of Aeronautics from the Cold War through today.  He related stories of his involvement in designing and test driving for some of the most used aircraft over the last few decades.
