Announcements

  • Mike McKinney undergoes his second of three surgeries on his brain this week to stop his hand tremors.  The third surgery will be later in February and then perhaps in April, once the surgery areas are healed, they can "flip the switch" and the hand tremors will be gone. It's a game changer!
  • Janet Zeschin’s son, Zack, was in the hospital last week for severe complications from Covid. He’s home now but Friday her husband, Larry, had a grand mal seizure and is at MCR. He was still having partial onset seizures so they are rearranging/adding to his meds…..not sure on his discharge yet.

  • Sue Yowell is in California having a very specialized cancer scan (FES) that isn't available yet in Colorado. She will be back later this week.

  • EVSR Board meeting on Thursday this week at the EP Golf Course, downstairs in the conf room.  You will need to enter below in the back as the restaurant closes at 3pm.  Doors will be open.
  • Gordon announced that the Estes Park High School wrote a letter of thanks to Jackie Flood for all the tools that were donated from Jerry's collection. The value of the tools are valued at approximately $22,000.  He had over $2,000 worth of clamps, alone!  Gordon also announced that Jackie has an offer on her house.
  • Stacey announced that Cirque du Soleil is performing "Corteo" in Loveland, January 25-28.  She said if any of us would like to attend as a group of 10 or more, there is a 25% discount on tickets.  She is happy to organize it.   Please contact Stacey at staceywinsor@pm.me if you are interested in attending.
  • Mark your calendars for March 19th 2024 when Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary plans to celebrate becoming a 100% Paul Harris Club.  Special guests for this distinguished celebration will be Andy Smallwood, RI Past District Governor and Peace Conference Advisor (D5890) and DG Steve Sehnert.
  • We still have two members who have yet to take the member challenge and donate to the Rotary Annual Fund. Remember..... Sunrise Rotary will match your Paul Harris donation 2:1 between now and December 31st with a minimum donation of $100!!  For some of you, this will help you towards your initial Paul Harris and for others it will help you get to your next $1000 level. The Club will use its discretion and designate accrued PH points to help those who donate, but haven't yet received a Paul Harris, to become a Paul Harris Fellow for the first time. Simply sign in to my.rotary.org (or create an account if you haven't already) and then click on "DONATE".  Or you can mail a check to EVSR, PO Box 4261, Estes Park, CO 80517 and we'll make the donation. If you need help, contact Jean.
Please Log your Volunteer Hours!
Please remember to log your volunteer hours each week when you sign in.  Please log hours retroactive from July 1st for any Rotary or non-Rotary volunteer opportunities you have been involved in. Thank you!

Steve Misch
It was a VERY SPECIAL day today as Steve Misch came to his first Sunrise Rotary meeting since last May!  Upon arriving home from Israel last May, he came down with Covid which then went into a severe case of double pneumonia.  He is finally off oxygen, since two weeks, and has been cleared to be around people!  Steve, we are SO GLAD to have you back!
