What was your First Job?

President Bill Howell will call on one of us each week to spread "awe" with our first jobs! (You might be quite surprised what each of us did!) He might even ask what our last (paid) job was before we retired (if we are retired).

Program
This week's program was Dave Talbot speaking about "Crutches4Africa".  Dave is a polio survivor and he talked about their mission which is collecting, shipping, and distributing mobility devices to developing countries (17 countries in Africa and in 11 other countries).

Dave talked about how thousands of mobility devices are ending up in landfills every day!  Just think how many of these could help thousands of people in developing countries.  If you run across any unused mobility devices, contact https://Crutches4Africa.org or take them to the Denver distribution center (near Pena Blvd and I-70).

Rotary District 5440 (53 clubs in N. Colorado and Wyoming) collected a quarter of a 40’ shipping container (semi truck) of mobility devices at our district conference in Steamboat Springs last May. In addition, D5440 raised $9K in a Silent Auction to help ship a 40' container.
