Joint social with Noon Rotary on Thursday, May 30th at High Peak Camp. The Salvation Army has this camp for a retreat of inner city kids to have an experience at a camp. They have a large eating area and the food is served cafeteria style. There will be a tour includes seeing the dorms, etc. Stay tuned for more info to come.
Crutches-4-Africa
The Service Project for the May 16-19 District Conference is to support the efforts of CRUTCHES 4 AFRICA.
We are starting now to collect Mobility devices including: * crutches, ankle boots, walkers, wheelchairs, canes, leg braces, knee braces, prosthetic legs, air casts, baby jogging strollers, bicycle trailers, rollators, ski poles, etc.
Please bring them to our Rotary meetings and we will get them to the District Conference in Steamboat Springs.
When Rotary helped launch the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988, the disease paralyzed more than 1,000 people worldwide every day, most of them young children.
Since then, Rotary and its partners have reduced the number of polio cases by 99%, and in 2021 there were just six cases of polio caused by the wild poliovirus. Afghanistan and Pakistan are the only two countries where the wild poliovirus remains endemic.
John Tessler gave an update on The First Knight program that the Austin Rotary Club sponsors every 6 weeks at Hart Elementary School. Early Act First Knight (EAFK) is a character education program for elementary and middle schools from Knights of The Guild. Sponsored by Rotary Clubs, EAFK motivates and teaches children of all backgrounds to become civil, service-oriented people during their most formative years. The goal of the event is to inspire students to commit to the EAFK program throughout the school year where they will learn and apply concepts like respect, personal responsibility, honesty, compassion, fairness, tolerance and service to others.

Sunrise Rotary BOARD meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, at the Library in the Hondius Room at 5:30pm
Niki Gassmann announced that Matching Grants donations from Sunrise Rotary came to a total of $4400 (after Club match). This exceeded last year's donations. Proceeds will go to 12 Non-Profits in the Estes Valley.
o Only 14 Sunrise Rotarians have purchased tickets out of 46 members! We are a few weeks away from the Duck Race so let's show our support and purchase tickets!!
o Duck Race volunteer sign ups can be found HERE! They need lots of help so please sign up.
o Autumn Gold RAFFLE TICKET SALES and 30th Anniversary Merchandise will be sold at the Duck Race on May 4th between 10-2pm in Bond Park. Stacey and Kendra have volunteered to sell Raffle tickets but we could use some additional help.
