Toys for Tots
One of our community service projects for the holidays is Toys for Tots. There is a box at the Legion for dropping off the unwrapped toys. There will be a pick up on Dec 1 and on Dec 19 by the Marine Corp League who will oversee the distribution of the toys.
There are many in the Estes Valley, whose only source of heat is through a fireplace, and for many reasons are unable to support their needs. If you have firewood, please bring it to our meetings by December 19th and place it in Bill Howell's truck. From there, Crossroads Ministry will oversee the distributions of the firewood.
Pet Association Donations
The Estes Park Pet Association is in need of wet and dry food for dogs and cats, old towels and pet toys. Terri Martin and Bill Howell will see to it that the Pet Association will receive your donations.
Volunteers needed at the Stanley Home Museum
Please volunteer for this fun event! The Stanley Museum Yuletide Open House is Sat and Sun Dec 9-10. They need 65 volunteers to be "room monitors" during this 2 day event.

Volunteers are being asked to be room monitors (assuring no one touches or takes anything)
Knowledge about the Stanleys or the home is not required. There will be docents throughout the home to answer those questions. Each room will have a poster with the origin of an old holiday tradition. We will have roamers that will offer breaks to the room monitors as requested. Chili, hot soup and beverages will be available for the volunteers.
Fun WARM holiday dress is suggested.

Sunrise Rotary Christmas Party - Dec 14th
Our annual Christmas Party at the Historic Crag's Lodge is December 14th. If you haven't already RSVP'd to Sunny, please email her: schmitt.sunny@gmail.com.
Members are encouraged to give a $20 per person donation before or at the door.
If you would like to participate in a Secret Santa drawing, bring a gift ($20 limit please).
We won the $5000 Grant from DignityMemorial. Proceeds will go to the Veterans Community Project in Longmont. Bill Howell will give us the details on an "all member" Work Day soon. We'll ask our Interact kids to help, too.
Stacey is celebrating her 1 year anniversary at Allnutt Funeral Services. The company awarded her with a 1 year service pin.
Niki recognized our club for the huge turnout to support the nominees from our club at last week's Golden Antler Award. Both Bill Howell and Leslie Glover won in the "runner up" categories and Scott Webermier, in memoriam, shared first prize with Village Thrift.
Bill Howell gave thanks for all our you who have donated to Toys for Tots, firewood for Crossroads and supplies for the Pet Association. Donations for all 3 will be accepted through December 19th. Bring donations to our meetings.

Kendra has spoken with Morgan at MacGregor Ranch to see if we, as a club, can gather firewood for Crossroads Ministry on their property. Morgan will present it to their board on Dec 1 this week for approval and let Kendra know.

Sunrise Rotary will match your Paul Harris donation 2:1 between now and December 31st with a minimum donation of $100!!For some of you, this will help you towards your initial Paul Harris and for others it will help you get to your next $1000 level. The Club will use its discretion and designate accrued PH points to help those who donate, but haven't yet received a Paul Harris, to become a Paul Harris Fellow for the first time. Today's Program
Speaker: Shurie Scheel on "The Village of Kithaga Clean Water Project".
Shurie spoke to us on a clean water project she and a team of people are fundraising to supply 50 homes with clean water in the village of Kithaga in Kenya. The goal is to raise $26K - $32K to supply each of the 50 homes with
- 5000 liter tank
- gutters
- microfilter (30 year lifespan)
- clean water storage with spout
- handwash station
- washable sanitary pads
- Education on water, sanitation and hygiene
Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary presented Shurie with a $1000 check today towards this worthy project.
