The program is a project of the Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary, founded by Scott and Brandi Applegate, ensures that every child in the Estes Park Elementary School has access to books by providing them free of charge.

Our long-awaited humanitarian project in the Ecuadorian Amazon is set for November 11–18, 2025—exactly two years after we first began planning this global grant initiative!
A four-member team from the Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary Club—Jean Rissmiller, John Minier, Paul and Teresa Mueller—will join Jack Barker, President, Founder, Inventor, Innovative Water Technologies and Carlos Calvache of the Rotary Club of Puyo Ecuador to travel deep into the Ecuadorian Rainforest. Together, they will install a WallSpring Solar Water Purification System, capable of providing up to 13,680 gallons of clean drinking water per day to the Achuar community. The team will also install a Bottle Buddy station, designed to clean, sanitize, and rinse reusable bottles for safe use with the purified water.
In addition to bringing clean water, the team will conduct eye clinics in two to three villages, distributing reading glasses to those in need.
We are deeply grateful to the Sunrise Rotary Board for approving an additional $3,600 to cover unforeseen customs tariffs, ensuring this vital project moves forward without delay.
