Speaker Randy Repola, chair of the Estes Valley Fire and Safety Coalition, a citizens’ group formed to advocate for passage of the measure, spoke about a proposed 0.5% sales tax on the Nov. 3 ballot would raise an estimated $3.5 million annually for wildfire response, firefighter support, and the replacement of aging equipment.
